35mm of TCBG

Boy oh boy, am i being a little social dragonfly, which is a change i am enjoying for i am just as likely to hang out with my bad self, as join the party. On the topic of parties, I attended a friendly little shin-dig last night of a friend whose is moving out. Coinsidentally, that same senario(differing only in theme) occurs again tonight for another dear friend who is making her way south, exactly where to, I am unsure of. On the topic of socializing, it's the season, and I suppose, I mean to say that this is nice. Spring IS nice. Regardless of the last few days of rain, this deliriously brisk breeze is fabulous from the seat of a bicycle cruising down the sidewalk at speeds close to what your mother might call "wreckless". That refreshing cool stream of tears running from your eyes to ear, contrary to how it sounds, is one of my favorite resulting symptoms of the above practice. I can only hope that all you people out there in internet-land stop reading this right now and get on a bike...should for some reason the timing at this very moment not be suitable to take off on a bike ride, there are photos below from the festival last weekend. These are the result of one roll of 24exp film (donated by macky) and an old Ricoh (which technically belongs to me Ma, but i've successfully pirated it for a few years now.) on which we (carly and I) tried to capture the whole weekend, with only moderate success, as we were far to busy living it to look at it through a single reflex lens.

-our very own backyard bog.

-Macky enjoying the sun-warmed shallows

-some bathing beauties

TCBG

Ze crew y yo (minus KK, who is residing in Australia for the summer with Stepho) went to a bluegrass festival this weekend and it was decidedly an experience of a lifetime. Mother Nature blessed us with four days of delicious skin-bronzing sunshine and ridiculously warm weather which could simply be washed away in the afternoon sun by bathing in the extravagantly cool creek flowing near by. Our campsite had enough grass under foot that it was like sleeping on a queen's mattress not matter where you choose to end your night. Each sunrise was beckoned in by the festooning steam of a warm water marsh located ten meters from my tents open door.
Every day markedly different in the live music (2pm-sunrise), and beautiful exotic characters encountered along the way. This first batch of visual stimuli is complements of CCC.

McHugh

Some might say blogging three times in less than 24 hours is soooo passe...

My friend Tim and I hiked McHugh the other day, it was amazing and my first time on that trail. THere was a surprising amount of snow up there, but i suppose all that rain from the other day must have translated well at that altitude. Perhaps I'll be able to convince ze crew to adventure up once again to play in said snow.

Yours truly on the first or second false peak.
Tim on that same peak different angle.
Rabbit creek road and a valley in all it's ashy glory.
View of Turnagain Arm from the summit.
I'm not even flexing....swear.

Went to Whittier

battle barracks

and amazingly artsy

Dismantling the Burial Mound.

I've been fairly busy these last few weeks with projects, adventures and what not. Thus far the dismantling of "the burial mound" in Carly's backyard has been the biggest project accomplished. For those unfamiliar with Carly's backyard, it can be found in downtown Los Anchorage behind her house...the house has been there for multiple decades and the yard just the same. In the middle of this yard you'll find (or used to find) a very large mound composed of a multitude of objects: large stones, top soil, a fish pond filled with 2 by 4s, detritus, rocks, bronze balls, shit...exc. About a week ago Carly decided it had to go, so She, Myself, KTB, Arabia, and a few other helping hands set to the task of removing this moderately unsightly lump from her yard. Carly in the original break down...so many stones.. KTB and I workin through the top soil. The arrival of Eric for the final soil removal and such

After it's demolition and the construction of a patio and firepit what else was left to do but..BBQ and hulahoop wars. Boys enjoying their brews on and around the Carly-made patio and fire pit
Hula hoop wars...This is me killin BRT, even with the hoop size handycap. Disco Ball donated for the night by the infamous CCC.

Lazy Someday

Hiked up to Table 1 on Lazy Mountain the other day...i don't really remember which day it was, all this summering (made that one up: The act of utilizing every minute of light for adventure and activity) has me lost as far as time and day goes, regardless we hiked...we=Carly, Arabia and myself. It was a ridiculously beautiful day for the Alaskan spring topping at eighty degrees F. Carly loaned me her basic digital to capture the moment, enter photos... Just to top it off, a flex off...I obviously won.

hello.hello.again.

'Three tomatoes are walking down the street: Poppa tomato, Momma tomato, and Baby tomato. Baby tomato starts lagging behind and Poppa tomato gets really angry; goes back and squishes him, says, "Ketchup."'- Mrs. Mia Wallace....

Pre-During-Post Fire and Ash session in downtown....

This may only be a ten photog update, with little to no commentary or captions (HTML and I are at odds for the moment), but be assured that despite the current lack of methods in which to document the adventures of myself and company, they happen. Though it wouldn't be a ridiculous claim to state that the tales of my adventures (and misadventures) are written clearly on my legs, feet and hands; in a language only read by those who know it, and learn it at the top of every mountain, and the edge of every curb.
